Private Dining Rooms in Gstaad

Gstaad's luxury hotel properties and top independent restaurants offer some of Switzerland's finest private dining spaces — from intimate rooms for eight to exclusive hire of entire restaurant floors for a hundred. Whether you are planning a corporate dinner, a family celebration, a wine dinner or a wedding reception, this guide maps every option in the Saanenland.

Private dining at The Alpina Gstaad

The Alpina Gstaad has the most sophisticated private events infrastructure in the valley. The hotel offers two dedicated private dining spaces: a wine cellar room for 8–12 guests with over 4,000 bottles as the backdrop, and a terrace suite that seats up to 30 with full mountain panorama. Both spaces can be booked through The Alpina events team independently of the main Sommet and MEGU restaurants. Bespoke menus, wine pairing and AV equipment for corporate presentations are all available.

Gstaad Palace — private dining on a grand scale

The Gstaad Palace can accommodate private groups of any size, from an intimate dinner for ten in a private salon to a black-tie event for 300 in the Grand Ballroom. The Palace's in-house events team handles everything from floral decoration to live entertainment booking. Le Grand & La Terrasse can be exclusively hired for dinner for groups of 30 or more. This is the preferred choice for corporate retreats, family reunions and wedding receptions that require full-service event management.

Le Grand Bellevue — LEONARD's private dining

Le Grand Bellevue Hotel can configure private dining at LEONARD's for groups of up to 20 in a semi-private arrangement, or offer exclusive hire of the chef's counter experience for a small group of 8–10. The hotel also has a private salon adjacent to the main restaurant for larger groups. Ideal for business dinners where the quality of the food is as important as the confidentiality of the conversation.

Independent private dining — Chesery and Sonnenhof

Restaurant Chesery can arrange exclusive hire of the entire restaurant for groups of up to 50 — on non-public restaurant evenings (typically Monday or Sunday). This is a rare and special experience: the entire Aga Khan dairy to yourself, Robert Speth's kitchen cooking a bespoke menu. Contact is best made through our concierge well in advance (minimum 6 weeks). Restaurant Sonnenhof in Saanen can similarly arrange private hire for groups of up to 30.

HUUS Hotel — private dining for groups in Saanen

HUUS Hotel in Saanen sits between the airport and the village, making it a practical option for groups arriving by private aircraft into Saanen Airport. The hotel restaurant can accommodate private dinners in a semi-private configuration, and the design-led interior provides a stylish setting for corporate events and private celebrations. The sushi counter and Mediterranean kitchen make it a flexible choice for groups with varied preferences.

Corporate dinners and incentive events in Gstaad

Gstaad receives a significant volume of corporate incentive travel — executive teams rewarding high performance with a week in the Alps. The corporate private dining circuit in the valley includes The Alpina for the most ambitious events, Le Grand Bellevue for business dinners of 10–20, and Gstaad Palace for gala-format evenings with entertainment. Most properties can also arrange day-after team activities — helicopter transfers, ski guiding, sommelier wine masterclasses — as part of a complete event package.

Private fondue evenings in the mountains

One of the most memorable private dining experiences in the Saanenland is a private fondue evening in a mountain hut or a converted barn. Several operators in the valley offer catered fondue evenings in private chalets, accessible by snowcat or snowshoe in winter and by foot in summer. Contact us and we can coordinate with local catering specialists for a truly unique group experience outside the restaurant circuit.

Minimum group sizes and pricing for private dining

Private dining rooms in Gstaad typically require a minimum spend rather than a minimum guest count. At The Alpina's wine cellar room, minimums start at CHF 1,500 for the space hire plus food and wine costs. Gstaad Palace exclusive events carry venue hire costs from CHF 5,000 upwards depending on the space. For independent restaurant exclusives like Chesery, discuss pricing directly through our concierge as these are negotiated individually.

AV equipment and presentation support

All the major hotel properties (The Alpina, Gstaad Palace, Le Grand Bellevue, HUUS) can provide AV equipment including projectors, screens, microphones and video conferencing for corporate private dining events. This support needs to be arranged with the hotel events team at least two weeks in advance. Independent restaurants like Chesery and Sonnenhof do not have built-in AV infrastructure but can accommodate portable equipment brought by the organiser.

How to arrange private dining through our concierge

Contact us with the group size, preferred date, budget per person and any specific requirements (cuisine, dietary restrictions, entertainment, AV). We will reach out to the relevant venues, obtain menus and pricing proposals, and come back to you with options. For complex events (30+ people, multi-day corporate programmes), allow three to four weeks from first contact to confirmed booking.
