Valentine's Day Restaurants in Gstaad

Where to take someone on 14 February in the Gstaad valley — fireplaces, stars, snow.

Valentine's Day in mid-February lands in the middle of Swiss school holidays, which means Gstaad is full and the restaurants are busy. Most hotel dining rooms run a Valentine's menu; a handful of the top restaurants run something more specific. Booking 2-3 weeks ahead is essential. This is our curated list of the most romantic Gstaad valley tables for 14 February, with notes on which rooms take extra romantic requests (flowers, cake, specific seating).

The three most reliably romantic Valentine's tables in the valley are Chesery (classical fireplace), Olden (historic chalet atmosphere), and Sommet at The Alpina (architectural beauty). All three run bespoke Valentine's menus at CHF 280-420 per person.

For a more relaxed Valentine's, Ermitage or Sonnenhof in Saanen both do excellent romantic dinners at lower price points — CHF 145-185 per person for a 4-course prix fixe. Bookings easier; atmosphere quieter.

Mountain-restaurant Valentine's is a thing: Wasserngrat sometimes runs a special moonlight evening on 14 February (announced late January). Rinderberg Spitz also occasionally. Ask us if this interests you; we will check availability closer to the date.
